Editorial Cartoon Contest Winners 2019
Luc Descheemaeker of Belgium is the first prize winner in the 19th editorial cartoon contest, another popular feature of CCWPF's annual celebration. Winner of 270 international cartoon awards, the retired art teacher is also a humour photographer.
Second prize winner is Bruce MacKinnon, editorial cartoonist at the HalifaxChronicle-Herald.
The third prize goes to Gustavo Caballero Talavera (known as Guffo) of Mexico. Ten Awards of Excellence will be given as well.

Luc Descheemaeker / 'O-SEKOER'  Belgian cartoonist  Luc Descheemaeker (°1955) with the 'pen name 'O-SEKOER'.  He makes cartoons and humor photographs and is the winner of just not 350 international cartoon awards.  Luc Descheemaeker 1955° (O-SEKOER) tekent sedert 1979. Zijn tekeningen hangen de wereld rond in verschillende cartoonmusea. Jaarlijks neemt hij deel aan een tientallen internationale humorfestivals en honderden van zijn werken werden gepubliceerd in meerdere cartooncatalogussen. Hij behaalde in de voorbije 40 jaar 380 internationale prijzen. Hij combineert grafische- en digitale technieken met mekaar. Computer, scanner en printer zijn deel geworden van zijn tekentafel. Pastelkrijt, oliepastels en kleurpotloden leiden de dans van zijn fotobewerkingen. De actualiteit, oorlog en vrede, armoede, mens en milieu, vluchtelingencrisis... en de wereld van de kunst behoren tot zijn favoriete thema's. Hij zoekt in de absurde wereld van het ochte...
